Default That was a new one!

Started my truck, then unplugged the block heater (it got down to 34° last night and rained about 2" in the past 24 hours), and got back into the truck. It was already warm and the oil and fuel pressures looked great, so I put it in gear and started up the driveway.

That is when, one of the fatest raccoons I have ever laid eyes upon, barrel rolled out of my engine bay, through the wheel well, and tumbled out onto the concrete drive. It then continued to haul ass up the drive, up the front steps to the house and then dove under our front porch. He/she must have found my warm motor during the cold, wet weather last night as it wasn't there the day before.

After getting myself to stop laughing, and not wanting to be late for my appointment, I decided to just keep on driving. Which was a mistake. Should have checked under the hood first...

Got a lot to sort out under the hood. Raccoon trashed the hood liner and managed to sever some of the electrical wiring. Impressive as there isn't much that isn't mechanical under the hood.

Oh well, at least I got a chuckle out of it.

This engine is pretty warm but a blanket would be nice, what could I use?
