Default Sevenmile and perhaps Stump hill next weekend

I haven’t done either but I know some folks did it this weekend during the snow storm and had little trouble. Who’s interested? Probably thinking Sunday but Saturday isn’t out of the question

I'll tag along, I'm planning to get out both days. Saturday is wide open for me and Sunday I'm planning to get out with the family but won't be free until afternoon time, could come join up with you though.

I gotta take it easy, too much bouncing around and my front drive-shaft separates. Or may be in the shop, I'm dropping it off later today to get lengthened. Hopefully I'll have it back by the weekend.

Saturday might be better for me, it's a two hour drive. I'm thinking about heading up late afternoon Friday and camping on one of the offshoots on Sevenmile.

I might be swayed for sevenmile. I can do either day with a pref towards better weather.

I have not done the spur that's called stump hill. I believe I know where the turn for it is. It's on my ToDo list (curious if the snow will keep us out).

Stump Hill is only open in the winter and it’s right off Sevenmile trail a few miles in..... not sure how much snow there will be but I’ll bring chains

Its at least a 2 hour drive for me to get to the trailhead also, which is why I’m starting the planning process so early...lol!

I’m thinking Saturday at this point but am pretty open!

Yes, I’ll have to stop at the Mobil in west Loveland before heading up thru Masonville and up to Hwy 14. It’ll take me probably closer to 2.5 hours to get there but I’m ok with that. I need some new scenery and I have not run any of those trails up near Red Feather Lakes

I corresponded with a Jeeper who did Sevenmile last weekend at night while it was snowing.... they said they bashed the whole time but made it all the way. They did not try Stump hill.

I know we may get a little more snow but I’m thinking it should be snowy but not impassable and I’m really stoked to try the Stump hill winter challenge

I'll be a maybe until Friday afternoon with a solid yea/nea. Most likely is my position unless something mechanical needs to be tended (and won't be by Fri night).

I pull the battery as the jeep sits in the winter. It's on the workbench and charged awaiting Friday for install. I need to tend the broken chain link (easy - just need to get it done).

Same, I'm a maybe until tomorrow evening. Waiting to hear if I'll have my front d-shaft back tomorrow or not.

Ok well I'm probably just going to stick around my local trails since you guys are maybe's and this trail is at least 2 hour drive for me. I'll keep looking back in case some folks chime in wanting to go... I'm pretty flexible but I just don't want to put something on the calendar without knowing I won't end up being the only one going

So.... should I bother putting the battery into the jeep? Are you calling it off or would you go if I go?

I won't know if I'd be a yes until Friday aft when I put the battery in.

Weather wise, it looks like Sat would be my pref.

I see what your saying, and yes put the battery in and I’ll go if you go! I’m sick of the same old trails around here and Saturday works for me

Hoping I get my shaft back tomorrow. I'll still tag along and 2 wheel it if you don't mind. I have decent gear to get myself unstuck..

Yep! My Jeep's on the road. I'll pack it tonight to be ready in the morning.

Sounds like four vehicles for the trail.

Depending upon the time - I might head north to the no-winter-maintenance section of route 80C.

yes we will be there at 10am! If you look at the top of the page, under the forum logo you’ll see a section titled Front range 4x4 Upcoming Trail runs.... below that is a link to this run on the calendar that I created a couple days ago. This section will show all planned trails when people post them, which is not hat often in the winter (and mostly me posting) but in the summer there are multiple events at one time usually!!
