Default Getting new tires place cant balance

Hoping someone could offer advice quickly I ordered some new tires and the place I'm having cant balance them they said they're too big and are suggesting I use balance beads instead. I know nothing about these can someone offer advice?

Seems as though people either love or hate balance beads. With really big tires they seem to be the way to go IMO.

Did it once - in the car with the ceramic beads and ONCE (with terrible result) in the jeep (35x12.5x15) with airsoft BB's.

In neither case did the beads solve the issue of difficult to balance tires.

In the car, on the freeway, it would oscillate between GLASS SMOOTH and slight out of balance irritation every 20 to 40 seconds. Tried it once - won't again.

In the jeep, the first time I hit the freeway and got up to 65 a rear tire went 100% out of balance. I thought the rear axle was going to depart the vehicle. I bet the tire was leaving the pavement it was so far out of balance.

I've never had death wobble but I think I'd put the experience as worse than DW. Perhaps I had too many beads? I dismounted and removed'm. One odd side effect - somewhat interesting, coming to a stop I'd hear a "shush" as the beads fell down and hit the top of the wheel.

Those are my experiences. I have ceramic beads for sale. The airsoft BB's went into the trash.

In your case, I think I'd visit a different tire balance shop for a second opinion.

First off, how big are the tires? Unless they are 44"+ I would take them to another shop. I run beads in my Jeep and don't really have any problem with them although once in great a while I can feel them out of balance for a second or two, but then it corrects itself (usually only happens after hitting a pothole). I would not recommend air soft pellets or steel beads (I use stainless steel beads). Only other thing is there is a sound (like a maraca) when I come to a stop.

Also - you can never use tire slime or fix a flat once you install beads...

How big of tire? Many places can balance large tires.

I ran Dynabeads in my 36" IROKS and then 37" PitBulls and they worked great, up to 80 mph on the highway without any issues.

I took it to another shop and they are balancing. I only picked the original shop cause it was offered via Amazon and I bought the tires via Amazon with gift cards.

Les Schwab is doing the install now everything is going well.

thanks again for the quick info and experiences with the beads everyone. I have never been to a pep boys and that is easily the last time I go. Again, Amazon made it so you could easily ship to that shop and made it seem like they could install which was the only reason I selected them. Les Schwab got me in and out, mounted and balanced super quick with no issues.

I would try GoGreen, they mounted and balanced my retreads for me. I have had horrible experiences with Pep Boys and will never return there for even picking up fluids.

As you can tell there is a big difference between can’t and dont want to .
a lot of places can do up to 40s but those tires are heavy AF
if they say they can’t it just means “ ah he!! No”
