bump....current sign-ups are 6 people...would be awesome to have a few more to make things go quickly. The fall colors will be starting....I even mentioned to my wife I might have the Willys running well enough in time for the clean-up on DC - she said no-way. hope to see you all there in a few weeks...

Maybe...one big issue would be tires...it will need some decent AT tires, and not sure what size I want to go with, and a rim size change may also be in the future along with a possible small lift. I don't really want to spend a lot of money on tires that I will want to replace soon thereafter. If I can find a decent set used that would fit current rims and clearance, then I might go with them. We'll see....but that gives me an idea to post a WTB add in the classifieds. still working on the cooling and timing (radiator due in tues). On Sun I fixed a broken seat frame (weld) and mounted the inner halves of the seat belts you sent me...now need to mount the outer halves - but that requires drilling in the body so want to make sure to get it right. Of course, at some point I need to work on the Taco for basic maintenance - it needs brakes and oil change.

Will any of you who are going have an open seat? My daughter will be coming with me and she wants to see if any of her friends would like to join in so they can get some "volunteer credit hours". I don't think they would enjoy climbing in and out of my back seat!

I sent an invite to several others if they wish to join - if nobody joins, I'll have one empty seat. It might be a day or two prior before I know.

Just ordered my new fuel tank from England so hopefully there'll be not more fuel smell from my Rover.

...from England? Shipping time and cost for something bulky like that?

Not many options for the fuel tanks on these Rovers. The USA sellers just gouge you in prices that more than make up for the shipping cost from Rimmer Bros in England.

FYI, Clear Creek Canyon will be closed on the 28th. This popped up on Nextdoor:

"9/28 Experience Clear Creek Canyon WITHOUT TRAFFIC!

    Register Today: https://offero.jeffco.us/ActivityReg...c-ab2e07945c44

The canyon will be open to volunteers only!

    8am - 2pm

Help keep the canyon clean and safe. Activities include stream bank and roadside trash collection, erosion control, habitat restoration, and a celebration with food and music at the conclusion of the project.

National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort. It celebrates the connection between people and open space in their community, inspires environmental stewardship, and encourages use of your public lands for education, recreation, and general health.

Just a bump to top as a reminder. 9 am at the USFS ranger office at hwy 103 exit off of I-70 in Idaho Springs. 8 rigs signed up now - that is kind of a minimum number with 4 going to each trail, and then splitting up into groups of two. Hope we can get a few more out. thanks!

I'm on a 10 day cycle of amoxocylin that ends that morning. As it stands I'd fart you all to death, but if I'm OK by then I'm in.

We have visitors coming. They are the overseas type so I gotta be there for it. Maybe next year I can get on the amoxicillin cycle and be asked to leave!

Brian, this sounds like a great opportunity to show American's do care about the environment and show them some amazing views. Take them on Devil's canyon trail..

Great idea, it's just every day of their visit is already accounted for. Obviously everyone wants to maximize the short amount of time they have together and that time just didn't allow a side trip like the trail clean up this year.

Hey, I'll have an open seat. Technically 2 open seats, maybe 3 if friend doesn't come. I'll have the pup in the back though so probably won't want to join if allergic or not a fan of dogs.
