Default A second option for this weekend (8/16-17)?

Looking to see if there is interest in a run this weekend...open to either Sat or Sun. I know we have the Kingston Peak run going on, but I just ran that a couple weeks ago, and was looking for a different option. Could be something like Red Cone, MSV-Coney, Red Elephant-Bill Moore, Wheeler....other ideas?

I’m up for something a little more challenging on Saturday.

My cj isn't in the same category as your LJ, but I don't mind pushing it a bit...got a suggestion?

How about Wheeler Lake? It looks interesting: https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/494-wheeler-lake
Google says it's about a 2.5 hour drive (114 miles) from my house.

I'm open to your suggestions. I'm fine with lighter obstacles, learning/exploring new areas, not out to break anything or test the limits.

I am good with Wheeler...have run before...its got some good spots...Meet spot and time? The 4wd trailhead is at the top of the reservoir...which works for me...good place to air down and lock in etc...

We can also meet in Fairplay (I will probably stop for gas there) or somewhere closer to the front range etc...I am always good with early start...

I’m also interested in that trail. I may have to work on Saturday though. I’ll keep an eye on this.

i would suggest an early start for sure. I came to Denver from up that way last Saturday morning and the traffic heading towards Fairplay looked just shy if I-25 kind of busy. I am sure northbound in the evening won’t be too fast either.

I'm going to think about this for Sunday. Saturday I'm heading out toward Bond/Rancho Del Rio with my pontoon to do some flyfishing. It's going to be a long day, so I'll have to see what I'm feeling like Saturday night. I'll keep checking here to see what might be going on.

Let’s meet at the 4wd trailhead at the top of the reservoir. You pick the time, earlier the better for me too.

Gerald and I had a good run on Wheeler today...no problems for us...not posting a separate trail run thread since it was just the two of us, and I only got one decent picture (Jen is better at pics than I am). Great to meet you in person, Gerald, and look forward to another run.
