Yes, I think that spur is the one that was closed. It is quite obvious on the google satellite imagery, and is at this pin --

The climb splits into a right and a left side and shortly rejoins uphill. At the top of the climb, you could previously (several years ago) go west to access a mine, I believe. Last year (at least), there was a big fence blocking the mine access. I wonder if that has something to do with this climb being closed further from the secured entrance.
Sean mentioned mercury contamination from the mine being an issue that may have caused the closure.
