New and Stuck!

Got myself a new (to me) 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon! Enjoying it so far and have been stuck on the 3rd day of owning it. Have had some fun and need more! Decided to get a 2 door Wrangler so I can off road better and who needs more space? I got it as my Grand Cherokee was not enough. Completely destroyed the front driveshaft CV joint! Just about fell out! It was pouring super fine metal dust out! Knew I needed something that could take a beating and keep moving!

This road is a simple dirt road in rough shape. It is on Jelm Mountain in Laramie WY. It wasn't too bad but I got stuck in the super wet and slick snow drift and I just couldn't get any traction. Lockers didn't help much. Digging the tires out didn't help. Had to stuff my floor mats under the tires and that was then enough to get some speed backwards to get out.

I've been up there once, on the motorcycle - 2007. I recall it being rather rough back then.

You should join Paul and Tom this Saturday at 4 mile. That area is just perfect. And will give you somewhere to stop over while headind south to Ouray for an overnight to break-up your drive before doing some of the high mountain pass trails later on in the season. I would go but still working on my XJ. My son and I are going mountain biking instead that day.

Bunce isn't too far out of the way if there's free time and inclination!

Of note, the group has this "rescue list" which is a list of phone numbers of members who are willing to lend a hand (if they're available) should you get into a jam when out alone.

Figured the list out. Was blind and didn't see the user and password. Kept thinking it was my login for this site! Got it and it will be a help should I get stuck. Looking to get out soon! Unfortunately it will not be this weekend as I am booked. Guess I will have to wait but I will certainly look at the forums with jealous looks! Thanks for the help!
