Default 2019-04-20: Miller Rock - Phillip's in town

Matt and his son and Phillip and I gathered to explore Miller Rock. Our first stop was Miller Rock itself. I scrambled atop for the photo. Only a short stop and we were on the way to the creek - with the thought - would the other side, heading up be free of snow? Snow was generally of no issue but in a couple of spots, with the right side tires in snow but the left sides on dry ground found the rights spinning. A simple spot where a locker made life easy.

We stopped at the main old cabins and then trekked to explore the other trails. On the way out, heading to the creek, I made a turn to one of the lesser traveled trails. It had a fall-down house but the chimney was still standing. A few minutes to explore and snap some pix we headed out - it was late in the day and we didn't explore the trails to the north.

Phillip, for a first visit with Matt spotting, made quick work getting up the obstacle.

Jim, what was the travel time between Longmont and the trailhead?

My GPS log closely matches what Google says:

    Google Map

    35 minutes / 23 miles

The Longmont location is US-287 & CO-66 - the north end of Longmont where I head west to Lyons.

    Animated GIF's

GIF is one image format that has the ability to "flip through" stacked pictures. Remember writing (for me) stick figures on notebook edges (when the teacher wasn't overly interesting) that you could flip through the notebook pages to "play the movie". Animated GIF's are mostly the same thing.

I planned to make a gif out of a set of photos when I took the photos (read - don't move the camera much from shot to shot).

Several programs exist (I'd assume) to make an animated GIF but I use Animation Shop v1.03 by Jasc Software (c1991-1999). Older than dirt software that still runs and does what I ask of it.

Essentially, I open the set of photos in Animation Shop, set a delay for it to use, photo to photo (which can be individually changed if needed) and save as an animated GIF. Done.

I think Aaron has posted some as well - perhaps he'll chime in too.
