Default Epic Trail to run mid-April?

Hi All - I'm looking for a good trail, maybe a few days, to run in mid-April for my birthday. My buddies and I did the Kokopelli Trail to Fruita to Moab last year and it was AWESOME. I'm looking for something similar. I/we have high clearance, modified Xterras and aren't afraid of moderate-to-difficult trails. Any ideas? We'd be willing to travel west, south, or southwest. We'd only have three days so unfortunately we can't go too far.

    Thanks in advance!

Have you ran many trails here in Colorado? Because half of them are closed till after June. So the only local places that might be worth doing would be the Gulches and Chinamans Gulch. (you have probably ran these already) Also It's probably way to far but how about Sedona Arizona? (probably won't be doable 3-day trip)?

Just west of Tom's RimRocker (on my ToDo list) is Moab. What temps does Moab have in April (could be quite nice there).

I wouldn't say the RimRocker is an Epic trail. If you only have 3-days I would bee-line it to Moab and have a Epic time there. Only if I had time in April for a 3-day trip???

Tom, when we traveled the Mesa in 2015 and you split off to the northeast and I and guest went west - do you have a track or map of the route you took to the northeast? Did we split at the intersection of Brown and Red (above) with you traveling Red > Green > Bright Red?

Don’t have the track, but I am thinking we came out closer to Delta.

Looking at the Umcompahgre MVUM I think we went out on 503

Thanks for the input everyone! This is a fantastic list! Yes, we are hoping to go south/west to get out of snow hopefully. The Kokopelli trail had almost no snow on it and was perfect camping conditions.

Rimrocker looks very interesting! Has anyone run it? 160 miles - I bet that's doable in 2-3 days.

    Thanks for the replies everyone!

Rimrocker is in the new FOURWHEELER, they run it in new Toyotas. I've not done it yet, but it looks like a fun ride, a lot tamer than Kokopelli but not boring.

I've been trying to do all of Tabeguache for two years now with no luck. Hopefully this year!

We ran it a couple summers ago, it a good trail if you want to overland as much
of time as you can. But it wasn’t “epic”. But we were in good company. Thanks TJ

He wants more signs! Signs everywhere. At every fork. Warnings for cattle etc. Maybe the bumps should be marked too and directional curve signs. He forgot to print the map after all. Give the guy a break!!!

If you go to the Bureau of land managment office right next to the Windy's in Montrose co. You can get a detailed map of the trail for freeeeeee.
