Totally new to 4x4. Looks like a lot of fun. 28 years old and not starting with a gigantic budget, but can't wait to get out on the trails! After spending just over a year living in Boulder, I bought a 1st generation Pathfinder. 5 speed. After some maintenance, we'll be looking to learn from ya'll Seems I'm in the right place to do some serious exploring with some experienced drivers. Excited to see you out there.

Well Derek - you found a good group of folks. We have folks here spanning the range - from you who _just_ purchased a 4x4 and want to get out, to those who have Daily Driver's (DD) vehicles t hat need to get them to work on Monday after a weekend on the trail, to those that have "streetable" or dedicated trail 4x4's (me) where it's not needed to get them to work on Monday, to those who have "buggies" - trailered, often off-road-only for use on the difficult trail obstacles.

There's also a mix of folks - those who mainly day-trip (or long weekend) to those who wish to overland / longer duration camping travel. I've been a day-tripper but am getting the nudge to at least overnight to spend more time outside.

Overall, we're a relaxed mix of folks - family friendly (rare is a swear word or beer - not by policy - just who's in the mix).

Ask questions. Browse the forums. An old member, Brody, posted a LOT of good info. Many of his threads are "stickied" for easy reference.

Welcome - get involved. There's no initiation. If you wish to start a run - do it... yourself!
