    Default New to 4x4

Hi! I am pretty new to offroading and looking for some places to go while there is snow on the ground. I have an 02 tacoma with a 2" lift on it and some ok AT tires. No lockers.

I would love to join some people going out on the weekends.

Anyone have some suggestions? Or trips willing to take someone new?

    Thanks!

I saw Nate's first post and took it to be an intro - but it wasn't (it was in trails?? - I don't recall) and I moved it to "Intro's". He then created a thread in Intro's. I PM'd and asked what he'd wish done with the two threads, with a recommendation to combine the two in Intro's - which has been done. Post 1 in this thread is his first post. Post 5 in this thread is the first post of the intro thread. Things might seem slightly disjointed but the overall is expressed - an intro for a new member and a question of trails we'd recommend."

    Welcome to the group!

Winter runs can be markedly different than summer (snow vs. No snow). Snow bashers might see more use of winches, chains, straps - and spending lots of time enjoying the 100' of trail right around you.

Lots-o-trails get locked for the season. Up north - Sevenmile Creek (IIRC) is open all season. Bunce School Road, the northern 2/3'ds with the attached IronClads is open all season. Rock Creek too. Switzerland Trail likely has areas open. The issue is snow depth.

"down south" likely has trails open with lower snow depths.

Others can jump in with winter trail selections.

    There's always Moab!

(admin edit - I thought this was an intro thread so I'm moving it to Intro's)

    Default Hi!

Hi, i recently got a 2002 tacoma and got pretty excited about taking it off road. I have been doing some light off roading in my wife's rav 4, but that was not very capable.

I put a two inch lift on my tacoma and i plan to upgrade the tires when my current ones die.

I have been having fun on some dirt roads but i would like to go with a group so i can learn from people who know what they are doing!

Activity is pretty slow in the winter...but if you are up for some snowbashing wheeling...check in with Matt (rockymtrebel) as he is always up for snow trips. See here:

Welcome, I wish I had the time to get out and play, maybe after the first of the year? But hope to see you out on trails this summer a lot! 😃
