Default Lift kit install on Tacoma

Hey guy’s, I have a fox lift kit I need installed on my Taco. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good 4x4 shop to use? I Had Johns 4x4 in Boulder do my last one a few years back so I might just go there again.

Slee in Golden. Never heard a bad thing about them. Johns is costly as he is paying for his location. Just my opinions.

Yea when I went to Johns to talk about work he did not sell me on his services. I felt like he didn't want my business ;-/

It looks like I might go with Slee (they definitely know Toyota’s) Someone at john’s asked me if I had the instructions when I called...lol. I’m still open to suggestions, Thanks guy’s!

Slee put the lift on the 4Runner I have. They know Toyotas and they admit they are expensive, but they do things right. Its been many years since I've used Johns 4x4, but that's because I moved.

FYI: "John's" 4x4 in Boulder isn't owned by a guy named John anymore.

I’ve decided to wait until may so I can save up for rims, 33’s and a body mount chop. Either Slee or Insain Fab is going to do the work. Dang this is an expensive hobby Thanks for everyone’s input!

Buy some tools and get to know your truck. It’s a pretty install if you take your time and make sure not to mess anything up. Just plan on it taking 2x as long as you think.

I completely agree with you Pete, if I had a lift, spring compressor, welder and alignment rack IÂ’d go for it. IÂ’ve been in construction for 20 years so IÂ’m not afraid of wrenching. Thanks for your input and hope to see you on a trail this Spring!

Why do you need a lift and welder, those kits are all bolt on aren’t they? I don’t think you even need a spring compressor do you (you can rent em for free at any auto parts store if you do)? There’s not much left for alignment, just a couple cam bolts on the lower arms, it’ll be close enough to drive to an alignment shop. I think it’s worth doing yourself (more $$ for other upgrades), that said Slee is an excellent shop that can take care of you, get you aligned and back on the road.

    Oh yea, nice truck!

Could do it with no lift(sketchy)or alignment, Fox co’s switched to single collar with pinch bolt so they can’t be adjusted with out a spring compressor or risking damage, cutting back the body mount requires welding a plate back on to clear 33’s(not part of lift). Unfortunately it’s my DD as well so down time cost’s me even more $. Slee can do it in 1 day.

    Thanks!
