Exclamation Adopt a trail spring 2017 clean up run!!

It's that time again!! Our trails are scheduled to open June 15th. Our anniversary run is the 17th so I'm proposing either Saturday or Sunday the following weekend, June 24th or 25th, or the weekend after that, July 1st or 2nd. Please vote on the poll for any and all days you would be avaluable to join (you can vote for more than one day) and we'll go with whatever day the most people are available. Once we have a date nailed down in the next few days, I'll post it to the calendar with more info.

Our 2 adopted trails are Barbour fork, and Devils' Canyon. Barbour, if you've never ran it is definitely more challenging and is passable with some stock rigs and careful tire placement. Devils' canyon is more laid back and easier on the un-modified rigs.

I always look forward to these clean up runs as it's a great opportunity to meet other members and do our part to keep these trails open.

Hope to see everyone out there!!

BUMP!!! Only 6 people have voted on the poll!!?? Right now we have a tie for June 24th and 25th. I'll leave the poll open for 24 hrs and then if there's still a tie, I will literally flip a coin, that is unless someone can come up with a reason for one day or the other, whether its a legit reason or one hell of a whopper (Im a sucker for a good funny story).
And I sure hope we can get more than 6 people out to lend a hand with our trails!! We have met some wonderful people on previous clean ups and unlike other runs where you may stop and chat a bit, you legitimately get quite a bit of time to chat with others and actually get to know them.
24hrs and then I'm posting a date!! Please vote on any and all days you would be available to help!! There are other groups waiting in line for trails to come available to adopt. Lets show the Forrest Service and the rest of the wheeling community through the total man hours we submit, that Front Range 4X4 is here to do our part in keeping these 2 wonderful trails open!!!

My preference is still the 24th. Sundays are always bad as I have to get up at 0300 on Monday for work.

I'm not voting because each day is equally conflicted for me, I'll just work with whatever you come up with. Hoping to run Devil's Canyon this year, I did Barbour Fork last time.

Holy cow, I can't believe it is that time of year again... Let me talk to the boss - and my manager. Hopefully I can put together a day. This is always a great event!

Glad it's that time of year. I've started carrying my cleaning setup on hikes. I voted the earlier weekend, I'll have family in town closer to the 4th. Hopefully I can bring the SO, I'll definitely bring the dog.

I have no problem leaving it open longer. My only thought was to give folks time to make plans if needed, but I'll let everyone have more time, no problem at all!!! Thank you everyone that has voted, and to those who will be soon!!

24th and 25th well in the lead, BUT still tied even with more votes, so we can narrow it down to a weekend now at least!! If you havent voted yet and are able to help any of those days in the poll, please vote!!

For us new drivers, I think I found the Barbour Fork trail just south of Idaho Springs. I'm also assuming that Devil's Canyon is SFR 246 off of Squaw Pass Rd.

Would the intent to be to do both trails on the same day? Or given the length of the trail do one trail one day and the other the next day? Or I guess the third possibility is for some to go to one trail while others do the other trail?

We meet at the forest station in Idaho Springs and split into 2 groups. Each group does a trail and sometimes with a big enough group we have split the group into 2 and done the loop from both directions.

I have not voted yet because it is pretty busy around here right now. Should be able to solidify things this week though. Got a new to me motorcycle I have been working on (just new chain and sprockets left I think), bought a Cherokee for a buddy that needs a lot of work to be reliable for him and his little one (will likely post up a thread later on this), a wedding next weekend and a vacation coming up. Will vote this week if able to make it work. The 25th is the only day that works for us but i didn't want to sway the vote and not be able to make it.

I have not voted because 24-25 are cleanup on msv-coney that I am committed for. And July 1 have committed to a run with the TrailDamage group.

Might be worth changing the poll options to the 24th, 25th, or either to help narrow down the day that'll get the most turnout. .

I will be moving into a hotel for the week on the 25th as our wood floors are being repaired after having some water damage (dishwasher leaked) and we cannot be in our house for the week. If we can do the 24th I'm in.

I know I'm new here, but worse case option for those that can only make the 24th or the 25th we can do one trail one day and do the other trail the next day. Those that can make the 24th do so, and those that can make the 25th do so. I know that is not optional, but it gets the most participation out there. Just a thought.

I can run Devil's Canyon in my 4runner but won't try Barbour Fork. I've ran it once with my Frontier pro-4X and picked up a couple dings on the lower bumper. Cannot do that to the wife's rig. We'd enjoy a drive up to the area and can help clean up Devil's canyon. I've never been on that trail.
