    Default Moab! 3/25

got our pics uploaded from Moab finally. not a ton of action since we were the only ones on the trails, but it was still a great time. we decided to run 7 Mile Rim since it was easy-ish and scenic. Saturday was overcast and we saw just a few sprinkles, but the weather was still nice. now, the book says to allow 5 hours for the trail plus driving time (which isn't much). I'm gonna go ahead and call bull on that one! granted, we had our 3-year-old with us and we stopped a few times to play and eat lunch, but we were on the trail for 3 hours before we even got to Uranium Arch. so, no way we could have done the whole thing in 5. due to the time, we decided to head back after the arch.

    anyways...pics!

we took turns with the camera and took our time. we were the only Jeep we saw on the trail all day. some quads and bikes and about 4 razors, but that was it. kinda slow day...

first "big" ledge of the day

not bad flex for a 2" leveling kit! I was very impressed at the JK's capabilities. it was my first time wheeling an auto, and even with 3.21 gears and 33s, it crawled with ease up everything we tried. I can't imagine what it will be like when we actually change the gearing...

had to play in the sand for a little while to keep attention spans happy.

more flex on a nice step-down

this trail is a nice mix of scenery and easy-ish trail features. lots of ledges both up and down, none of which were super big. there were a few extra features that could be done, but they weren't on the main part of the trail.

stopped for lunch at the top of the cliffs above the highway. nice views all around...

took a little while to find the arch. the book says "a short jog down to the arch" but it was a little over a mile off the main trail...

here's our digs for the long weekend. a custom-built tiny home just south of town...

it's on AirBnB if anyone wants to try to book it. the owners are really great people and the tiny home was really sweet. obviously, there's ample parking. only $100/night!

Sunday's plans were to hit up the dinosaur park on our way out of town, but Kayla decided she didn't get enough drive time the day before. so we headed to Sand Flats so she could drive Fins N Things for a bit before we headed out. the sun was shining and it was super beautiful. tops off!

nice, clear views of the La Sals all day...

all in all, it was a great trip. I'm super jealous of Kayla's JK...it makes my TJ seem like an old CJ! it's super capable as-is, and very comfy to drive. 6 hours was nothing for it. now we just need a few more small upgrades...

Looks like a good time - no letting the kids get out of sight at the lunch stop!
