This warm weather has me thinking about camping and wheeling even though it's still ski season!

I'm planning on doing a trip down to the Buena Vista this summer. It'd be a family/scenic trip. Probably stay at the ruby mountain campground and hit trails such as Chinaman, stuff up around st Elmo, tin cup, etc. Right now I'm thinking some time in June but am flexible. If this sounds interesting and we can get a group together we can pick a date that works.

Chinamans is the only trail Iv had to take a hook.

Fyi. Some of the trails near St. Elmo now require an OHV sticker for full size rigs this year.

Reviving this thread. Anyone up for Chinamans the 3rd weekend of June? If other stuff in the area is open by then we can hit some more.

Buena Vista area is all open now, including Aspen Ridge and all of Fourmile. St. Elmo area is probably over a month away, just a guess. I'm interested.

I'm thinking about heading down Friday night and staying through Sunday. Would have liked to camp at Ruby mountain but it's all booked up, probably just do the KOA to avoid the late night parties at the trail head (kids will be in tow).

I just noticed the anniversary run is scheduled for the 17th. I'd be interested in running up to China wall on Saturday then doing Chainman's on Sunday if people want to do that. Still thinking KOA by Johnsons Village for staging, it's an hour drive to China wall and about a 5 minute drive to Chinaman's.
