Haven't heard about it. Do you have a link with more info?
So when you're down at the river at the bottom of Hackett, there is a trail that goes up the hill to the south. I've been meaning to look into it further but never got around to it.
Okay, if it's the one Tom describes then I know what he's talking about. I thought it might be an illegal trail when I saw it so I didn't attempt taking it back. And yes, just the beginning of it looked really nasty.
I was on Traildamage last night looking at wheeler lake where Kurtis flopped....
And saw this
http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=534
As well as like 9 or 10 other new trail listings....
Funny they can list new stuff but cent keep up to date with the ones they have....4-8 years of not updating the trail desriptions on there own site....
Cool thanks!
These guys (traildamage) aren't doing anything spectacular. All they are doing is taking the MVUM and checking off various trails. There's a bunch of trails listed on their site but there is still tons of trails on the MVUM that aren't covered- get out there and explore some.
Back before the internet, people would go wheeling and not know nearly as much about a trail as we do today. They'd go in as far as their vehicle was capable and turn around if the trail was too much.
Oh I know we have it easy now days.....
I did a lot of go out and wheel without and clue of where things were going.
I was just wondering if any one had done this thing yet....
The trail up and out from the river is still Hackett.
We tried it 2 years ago with SynergyXJ.
He made it to the top but said it was hairy.
We got to the first big rock, got hung on the fuel tank with front left in the air and right rear in the air. It was the first time I scared Therese.
Even said that it got narrow.
I hiked up it and I think in the right rig it would be a sweet climb.
TJ- the directions say it is just down the road from Hackett on Cedar My. Road.
They may be calling the top of the trail Praditor.
