Yeah, my doc doesn't offer a choice. I'm fine with cadaver bone, like Jim said, I wouldn't want any bio on the donor. With the transplant surgery that going on these days a chunk of bone is nothing. On the same note my surgery is nothing compared to the stuff that's being done these days.

It's a cakewalk Chris. I have a plate in my lower back, don't know what else he stuck in there. I was up & around in 3 days, going back to work on a house I was remodeling on day 4. Also have a plate in my neck, behind my throat. That one took 4 days in, then several days taking it easy.

Thanks Charles, I'm counting on spending less time recuperating than I have spent fretting about this.

My wife has a friend who had a choice between a cadaver tendon or harvesting one from one leg to fix the other one. She thought the cadaver was icky, and now has two problem areas. IMO you are making the right choice, hope it goes as well for you as it did for Charles!!

Tomorrow it is, wishing it was today. Apparently I'm not good at waiting. Last food intake is dinner then nothing until they decide to feed me the obligatory Jello Friday or whever my digestive system wakes up.

Chris, My thoughts are with you all the way. You're going to get through this with flying colors. Sleep well tonight and then sleep well again in the morning. If you or your family need anything - just holler. You know help will be on the way. I hope to see you at China Wall (or before then). The checkered flags are still on my shopping list!

Thanks Jackie, my grand daughter stopped by earlier with an early Xmas gift. She told her Mom that "I know what my papa needs for his surgery. I spent lots of years of my life with him you know.” She gave me my own special cozy blanket that will make me feel better fast.
