    Default Possible clutch cable problems

I may or may not have an issue with my clutch cable. The other day I was driving my truck and the clutch was like normal a little loose (push the pedal around with no effort) but for the most part firm. Once leaving my destination and heading home the pedal only had about an inch of firmness to the pedal and the rest of the pedal travel was completely loose as though it wasn't even hooked up to anything.

So with that I replaced my clutch today (didn't finish) and the pedal still is really loose. I wasn't able to bleed my clutch but was about to get everything at least bolted in. So the question is could to looseness of pedal be from the old clutch and just needing to finish the job or the cable attached to the pedal? Any help is appreciated.

So if you have fluid is hydro no cable.
Most of these are sealed units.
To bleed the system in operat the slave side as it leaves the master in the return to tank and will remove the air.
If the rod has over extended out of the slave....you will need a new one as it will let air into the system

No cable, but I'm not sure the rod / slave thing applies to you, that's for the master/slave that come as one pre-filled and unbleedable unit , I think your year has an internal slave that is independent and I'd guess that's your monkey based on the pedal symptoms.

The clutch master has probably taken a dump. You should have replaced the clutch slave/throw out bearing while doing the clutch as well.

Thanks guys. I got the internal slave and all the bearings replaced while in there but I'll replace the master cylinder too while I'm at it!
