Default drive line vibration on 1999 xj.

My nephew has a 1999 xj that he has put a 2" budget lift on, and developed a drive line vibration. Talking to his dad they have put wedges on the rear axle, chrysler 8.25 and replaced all the u joints, but it is still there.
Does anyone have any ideas of what to look at?
I have heardthe front drive shaft might cause a problem?
It has a 231 transfer case.
I told him we have alot of helpfull people on this forum so maybe someone has an idea.
    Thanks Phil.
ps. by the way he is in California so taking it to a local shop will not work.

Pull the front drive shaft out and drive it. If it goes away that is the culprit. I don't think the shims are necessary on a 2" lift, it just depends on the angles the u-joints are put at. Alignment done after lift? Tires need rotated/replaced? Brakes checked?

I had to lower my TJ transfer case about 1/2 inch after a 2" lift, but that is a pretty short driveline.

Suggest measuring the angle of the drive shaft relative to the center line of the transfer case shaft and the differential shaft. They should be equal and opposite, within a tolerance that gets more critical with more acute angles. A couple of degrees max difference is what I needed for my TJ.

More than that and the u-joints will wear prematurely, and create vibration as the angle mismatch gets worse due to unequal acceleration of the u-joints. Longer drivelines are more tolerant of lift just due to the less acute angles in the first place.
