    Default 1989 Subaru 4x4 Truck

Never seen one of these before:

    https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5454184489.html

"I'm selling my 1989 Subaru Sambar kei truck. Has a clear blue Texas title. Can be registered in Colorado, but not in one of the nine counties which require emissions testing. This vehicle is federally legal, but at least in Adams county it has to be 32 years old to not have a catalytic converter. This little beast is ready to work. 4 wheel drive traction with a manual transmission. Powered by a 660cc 4 cylinder engine with a carburetor and if you want a real screamer, I can arrange to have a supercharged fuel injected version of this engine delivered from Japan through the guy I got this from. If you're in the Denver area, we can arrange to meet up and test drive if you'd like."

Not so much. Will be very hard to get it on the road in most counties.

    The no emissions issue!

And It a JDM very hard to get titled and registered.

Curious enough for a test ride.

Fitting there is no tach - as the ad says - it's a screamer!

`wonder how fast it would roll up the two big hills of I-70 westbound...

I've seen vehicles like these. The places I've seen them the most have been college campuses. Maintenance and other staff drive these, and vans that are similar to these, around campus doing work, collecting trash, etc. That's probably why the emissions is an issue; most of them probably won't ever see a road that isn't on campus. Also, these are usually super tiny and don't go very fast.

I want one in the worst way. I have some Suzuki Samurai axles that would fit perfect in there and run a 32-33" tire on it. I have seen some that have this done to them and they make a sweet little (notice the word LITTLE) wheelers. Having the bed would be a bonus for me.

Would kinda be like wheeling a FC JEEP, just a lot smaller.

Having no front hood to look over would be great on the trail!

That was a big bonus when I took my Toyota 4wd Van wheeling.

Andrew is known to stand up in the cab of his.....
But as he is vertically challenged it is what he has to do.
There's has issues see past the hood in the jeep, but she is getting used to it.
