In my experience, you can find both newer and older vehicles. The newer ones, however, usually show up few and far between. In addition, they're probably in the yard because they were in a wreck, so pickins might be slim. Also, you kind of have to show up often, because parts in the newer vehicles get taken pretty quickly.

If you're looking specifically at U Pull and Pay, they have an inventory search on their website: http://upullandpay.com/denver/search-inventory/. I don't know how often they update it, however.

I check often but the search isn't the best - no Land Cruisers option. I have yet to see. 4Runner newer than '98. The notification feature failes due to "wrong captcha" which doesn't show up on my iPad.

Unfortunately Toyota pick-ups/4-Runners/Tacomas/Landcruisers have always been scarce at the bone yards as long as I have been hitting them looking for both Jeep and Toy parts. I don't think I've ever seen an 80 series at a pull and pay. I think most of the wrecked Toyota 4x4 stuff is bought up by specialty places like the Yota Yard and Jim's, and the prices there are still high.

I also suspect that less of them are hitting the wrecked market due to how they seem to retain their value. They would be more likely to be repaired rather than totaled.

I've noticed the same thing with Jeep Wranglers. You can find Cherokees/Grand Cherokess all day, but Wranglers were pretty rare.

I have to agree. Also, anything that is new enough will either be rebuilt or sold online at a premium. Same thing with the old stuff. You don't see much 60's or 70's stuff. Most of it goes to specialty places and stripped to sell parts online at a premium, or will get resold complete for a restoration. A couple of the yards that I have been to "hide" the classic and the new stuff in the back behind a fence. Essentially I have stopped going to salvage yards, and rely solely on Craigslist and Ebay for my used parts. I just can't find what I need locally without paying a serious premium.

You know to tell her it's for safety, right? That usually works!
