Boy, I thought a 231 in good shape would go quicker, anyone got an OBO? I'd be willing to go lower for a FR 4x4 member.
would this work with a 5.2 grand cherokee? i have the awd transfer case in it right now
IIRC 1997 was a new spline count for input shaft, would have to be a 97 or later GC I believe. Read through this to get a good knowledge base for your project.

Thanks Cliff... Spencer, I do not know and don't want to give you bad info.
Thank you. I'm reading through that right now
Im missing that balance looking thing on the shaft between the np231 and the yoke. is that thing important?
I'd assume so if the Jeep engineers incurred the cost, but can't say for certain.
i will look for one at the JY, XJ colorado is having a Pull Party at Denver Pull n Pay, I actually set it up for them for the 20th. We will be there from 9-5 helping everyone as a group to pull parts we need with each other. so i'll look for one while im there!
Bump!
Any idea if this is a bolt in for a 95 YJ with an automatic transmission?
I couldn't sat definitively, and wouldn't want to give you bad info.

Thanks Paul!
Still FS!
the balencer is there for the short shaft TJs.
the grand has a longer wheel base thus angels creat less vibrations.
use the novak link to find the spline info.
as for the YJ if the spline count is right it should be a bolt in case.

Still for sale. Come pick it up and I'll take $200. Evans/Quebec in SE Denver.
Sounds like it's time to cut it up and build a box4rox
Sounds like a fun project, when do you want to pick it up so you can get started?
lol....not for me. I am looking into a HERO transfer case and will most likely use the black box from northwest fab whan the project gets moving.
look up the HERO cases, they make ATLAS look like a sami case. 40 spline shafts are standard in these things.
this last Hammers race had 20 Atls failures and zero HERO failures this says something for sure.....
I must say a 5k for a transfer case it better not fail!
