    Default Wanted: 33x10.5R15

Looking for a 33x10.5R15 tire to use as a spare. Doesn't have to be great, but needs to be usable. Can be either AT or MT. Could also be a 33x9.5R15 if anyone still has one of those lying around, but no 33x12.5 please.

Also, I intend to buy a new set of 33x10.5R15, so if anyone has a set of 4 that they want to sell, that would also be an option.

The closer to Denver the better, but anything from the Springs to FoCo could probably get worked out.

    thanks

I have a 33x9.50r15 Wild Country AT as my current spare and I want to swap it out for a 33x12.50r15. It old and dry but holds air, good for a spare, I wouldn't use it as an everyday. If you have a 12.50 or find one that holds air and is roadworthy I'd trade or maybe just buy it from you. I'm in Denver near Speer / Federal.

Paul - got any pics? Sorry - don't have a 12.5 one to trade but maybe we can find someone who can help us make this work as 33x12.5 is more common these days.

Of course I would want to make sure your 33x9.5 is good for my use.

    thanks

Curious. There was no forum "restore-from-backup" of late and I didn't toss'm. Again, curious.

so I went to take pics and upclose my spare tire sucks too much for me to give it to you, let alone trade for anything. I'm going to make it my trailer spare and just find a decent 12.50 spare for the Jeep. The trailer weighs about 900 lbs loaded for bear so it should be ok for that.

I mounted all 4 of my 31's myself. It's not difficult at all as long as you have a compressor to fill it. Hardest part is breaking the bead on the old tire, from there you can work it off with a couple pry bars and some soapy water and work the new one on the same way. There's lots of videos on youtube that show how to do if you have trouble finding anyone to mount it for you. Fair warning, the first one is a mother, but the rest are a piece of cake once you figure out where to pry on it. I'm just cheap, which is why I did it myself. Never had any balancing issues otherwise I would've tried the airsoft BB's trick. Just another option for ya.

This tire was my spare that I never used. I had 31x10.50 and went to 33x12.50. The tire has been kept in my garage ever since it was taken off the back of the Jeep. It is a normal feeling tire. It's not hard or any imperfections, blemishes, etc. I kept the tire because I just couldn't throw it away and I wanted it to go to somebody rather than throw it away. I know I will never go back to that tire size. It involved a wheel change. I grew up in MO and we put them on with two tire irons all the time. I'm in the over 50 group now and prefer not to do that type of labor. It is a good tire and I wouldn't be trying to pull your leg or anything like that. I saw a note that you were looking for a tire that I just happened to have. Just trying to help a fellar out.

Aside from balancing, tire ironing is fairly easy.

I dismounted / remounted all four of my 35x12.5x15's with two tire irons and was quite surprised at how easy it was. Smaller, motorcycle tires - not so much.

I had tried the RV antifreeze and airsoft BB method of balancing - never again (for me). That's why I went in - to remove the stuff.

As for breaking a bead... while stuck on I-70 in a rental truck with an outer on the dualie rear with a tread separation, the mobile repair guy set the bad wheel/tire flat on the ground and then drove his repair truck onto the tire to pop one the beads. If you have a second vehicle - but an option

Thanks Bill - the tire is gonna make a great spare. Just got to get the other 4 now - and its probably gonna cost a lot more! Hope to see you again on a run or whatnot.
