    Default Red Cone

Very good Red Cone video. It shows better perspective of the trail than most of them do, that rear camera on the driver's side of the spare tire does a nice job. Colorado is beautiful.

Wow. The descent is NOTHING like it used to be. I ran Red Cone about 15 years ago in a stock Explorer. The trail wasn't so deeply warn into the ridge, so you were actually ON the ridge, instead of on a trail warn down into it. Also, when I ran it, it had deep, offset holes where someone had spun their tires on it... trying to back up or something, no idea. But it made it one of those "chew a hole in your seat covers" kind of pucker moments. Looks like the woods have gotten a LOT harder since then too.

Plus I think they've done some work to the trail to remove some of that broken shale.

I thought it was just me, it hardly seems as intimidating the last couple of years as it was 15+ years ago. Could it be the capabilities also of our vehicles?

Possibly, but I'm driving the same rig for 25+ years now. Weather and traffic also change a trail over time, but I do know for sure they used a dozer to smooth out the decent from the top.
