Default I want a custom flatbed for my truck. Fabricators look inside!

The other day at work I ever so slightly dinged the side of my truck bed trying to squeeze through a tight spot. So naturally this is the perfect excuse to spend way too much money on something custom that is basically unnecessary but I want it hahaha. I want a minimal flatbed that is offroad friendly made for my truck and I want to put this out there for FR4x4 fabricators to look into. The pictures below are almost exactly what I want. The only real change would be that I don't necessarily need a headache rack and I don't need the radius(ed) area above the tires. In fact I might prefer stake holes up front so I can run wood like on the sides. It seems to be relatively simple construction and the shape is exactly what I want. Obviously small details like lights, plate mount etc. can and will likely change. Anybody interested? Can anyone give me a relatively accurate price quote? Also how long would it take? My truck is my DD work truck but I can live without it for a bit if I need to.

I honestly would never consider a flat bed without a headache rack or stake pockets. Some people really like flat beds others not so much. I think a utility box is far more versatile.

Ill definitely have something up there, whether its a headache rack, wood sides, a mounted toolbox or something else. It won't just be bare up to the cab.

Here is another Flatbed idea. This is my favorite one I've ever seen but I may be bias.

I appreciate the suggestions, ideas, opinions etc. but Im not looking for inspiration. I know what I want, I just need someone to build it for me.

Last flatbed I built with a wood deck, headache rack, under bed toolboxes on either side (customer supplied, off the shelf, just bolted on), stake pockets (customer made his own stake side panels), recessed led lighting, and built in bumper with receiver, all painted, we charged around 35 hours in labor plus materials. This project was around $500 in materials, but your bed could be less depending on lighting and other accessories. So plug in the labor rate for your shop of choice and add material costs and that should give you a pretty good estimate.

    Hope that this helps!

Oh, and I am sure that you already know this, but just in case, make sure that the bed is fabricated as a bolt on piece. Do NOT under any circumstances weld the bed to framework.

    Good luck!
