Default Spring Creek mid week next week?

I took the whole week off next week and want to go do a run. I think I may be ready by Wed. I've always wanted to run Spring Creek but would be open to anything. I have not been Jeeping long enough to be a lead on this one. I have led on Kingston Peak and Barbour fork but have never completed all of Spring Creek and not familiar with route or obstacles. As I said, I am open to anything if anyone is interested. I just don't want to have an entire week off and not make it the hills at least one day, if not several!

I'm open next week. Can't lead Spring Creek either but am definitely open to running some rails this week. I'm in Parker so not too far from you.

Do you think we could handle Cascade Creek and Saxton Mtn.?
Have you led trips yet? I just don't have gps and I don't know if I can trust my odemeter and books to get throuvh. If you have or have not but, think we'd be able to tackle it let me know. I have a 2005 T.J. Wifh a 4" lift, 33's, sliders and a winch.

Got it, thanks. I do most of this stuff on my phone and I wasn't sure if there was an attachment option on the Forum. I'll post the links momentarily.

So, it appears we can do this run from either direction. Cascade Creek looks like more fun. I'd rather start on it and descend, via Saxron Mtn. into Georgetown. Talks of switch backs, maybe this could start my mental prep. for Black Bear next year...

Again, I dot have experience leading. My Colorado Trails book doesn't list either trail either so, I will be printing Trail Damage pages. Hoping that with combined knowledge we'll be fine.

If anyone out there has run any of the trails mentioned and wants to lead... Jump right in!

Last I heard Saxon was in pretty bad shape and risky in some ledge spots. TD's info is 6+ years old so you might want to see what current info is out there. I think Hypoid is pretty up-to-date on it but I'm not sure.

We'll, I am sorry to report that I will not be able to run this week. Not sure when I will ne able to run again either. I had surgery on a hernia last week and was feeling great, apparently percocet, when I posted. I had a follow up today and was told to stay off the trail indefinitely.

Hopefully I'll be able to do another run before winter. Sorry for the premature post.

Good luck, hope you get to feeling better. You never realize how much you use your stomach muscles until you're told you can't use them any more.

I might be willing to lead on Spring Creek next week if people want to go. I've never ran it backwards, but its more fun to go up hard obstacles then down so I'd say up Spring Creek and down through either Cascade Creek or there are other routes to go down too.

Navigating on Spring Creek is pretty easy as there is only really one way to go, but once you get to the top the trails go all over the place and its a bit harder to navigate. Nothing to bad if you have a map, but can be a bit hard to choose which way to go on the intersections sometimes. You also have to go in the direction that feels but is correct in a few spots (uphill when you think you should go down, or left turn that loops around and eventually goes right kinda stuff).

I ran this last week and it was muddy but fun, but it was the rainy day we had so it should be dried out unless it rains again.
