It WAS a great day! The group showed up as planned - and then somehow we got separated into two or three groups. We kept running into each other, but I don't think all 10 of us traveled as a group for very long! Whatever. The weather was great and everyone was having fun. My husband hiked it as opposed to riding with me, but he did drive the last stretch out. (He's not a fan of 4-wheeling). For the first time ever I had to pull off and lift the hood for possible engine problems. I had a HOT OIL alert come on with the blinky lights and bells and whistles. (I just had my Jeep serviced a few days ago - so not what I expected). Rob gave me a quart of oil to throw in and we let it cool for a bit with the hood up. Made it home with no problems. I am probably to blame for it because I didn't have the Jeep in 4-lo.
Thanks to everyone for showing up. It was nice to meet new people and revisit with those I have known for a while. A special thanks to Rob for the oil and for the couple of spotting issues.
Let's all go and get lost more often!!! (I don't think there was a single person on the run that knew which way to go except my husband.... but he was on foot.... laughing at the whole situation as he could see it unfolding from his vantage points)!
I think he may have gotten a group shot from above... I'll post it if he did.
...and a few more...sorry trigger happy lol...

I had a great time. Nice to see everyone and make some new friends. I will get my pictures up as soon as I figure out some computer issues I seem to be having. I have one of a "traffic jam" at a turn around. LOL. Hope to see you all again on the trails.

Thanks for the pics! I forgot my camera today.
Steve/Fireball, Bernie (guy we met today) and I were hanging after everyone left and noticed an abandoned campfire (huge log) had started back up due to the wind so we tried to put it out. We used all our water, dirt, refilled water bottles from puddles and Bernie ended up calling FS. Nick and partner showed up with proper tools and finished what we couldn't do with our lack of tools.
Nice seeing everyone today, maybe we can all remember to watch for the truck behind us so we don't end up as we did today.

Keeping 11 vehicles together on a "network of trails" can be tricky.
There was some traffic at the starting switchbacks. That broke us up into two groups.
I turned into the lead for the second group. I missed the first left and went straight!!!...
The result was the first group did the trail clockwise and the second group (my group) ran it counter-clockwise.
Javaman and F150UP eventually broke into a 3rd group.
I didn't have a CB but I had a cell signal so I texted F150UP and we all met up in the middle.
Giddyup.
Group 1 and Group 2 met up twice because we continued our counter-clockwise run and they stayed clockwise.
We started as 11 vehicles and ended with 12. I recruited us another member along the way.
Nobody broke nothin'. The trail was clean. We gained a member. We saved the forest from burning down.* Chris got to speak with our Ranger team. It was a good day.
.
*someone left a campsite without completely extinguishing their fire - it started back up from the wind - we stayed until it was out which required help from the Forest Service
11 Rigs is a good sized group..

We got split into two groups. Passing each other was fun.
In fact, we got to see more of each other's vehicles than we would have if we stayed single file.
