    Default Grand Junction trails?

we're headed to GJ tonight in the Jeep to do some mountain biking tomorrow, but I was curious if there were any trails to do out there in the Jeep as well. nothing crazy, but more scenic maybe. we will have the bikes on the back, so that's why I wanted to keep it fairly easy.

    any suggestions?

I've only been to GC once, it was great! None of our plans worked out, so we ended up not getting to Rattlesnake Arches and did the Ribbon unexpectedly, without bikes, but I'd recommend both! Rattlesnake arches is supposed to be an amazing hike, some people on here have done it. If you go to a little after 3:00 in this video you can see the road as bad as it gets; if it hasn't rained in a day you shouldn't see it like that. We were unable to make it in our Forester with just AWD and stock street tires, I think you'd do better! The Ribbon was incredible, if you've never been there I'd suggest taking your bikes. It's worth seeing, and bring a camera. The video does it no justice, the views are as amazing as the location. We did the Mica mine hike by Bangs Canyon too, it was easy and beautiful. We're going back in the fall to try Rattlesnake Arches again, but with the Jeep this time.

cool vid, Paul! and Jim, thanks, I didn't see that thread. we'll be there only for the one day and MTB is our main goal, but we're driving the Jeep so we can explore if the opportunity presents itself.
