I was looking at that to do this year, the jeep should be able to do it. I don't think that my schedule would allow it for a couple of weeks though. When were you thinking of running it?
Then plan for July 15
Kingston is popular, and opening week is going to be a parking lot. I'm thinking Sunday, the 27th, but I'd probably defer to GlacierPaul's judgement on that.
Check out the traffic after 5:30 or so. Side note, make room and let the bikes pass, it sucks for them to have to go slow!!
I would enjoy doing this trail as well. The organizer gets to pick the date...but I would love to request 7/26 or earlier (leaving town on the 27th).
thanks

No need to request a date; the organizer is anyone, post up the date you want. It's better to have more runs, more chances for everyone's schedules to fit a run.
Backcountryislife (July 15th, 2014)
I have wanted to get up there for 4 years. With alpine loop looming I may be busy finishing up a few small projects before the trip.
Glad I looked here didn't know it closed. I was gonna go up in area and play with my winch!! Haha
Cool beans
Nick (USFS) opened the gate yesterday, I will be posting a report on Loch Lomond.

Thanks Paul!
It turns out NAXJA adopted Kingston Peak this year. The coordinator there, wants to get the first run in on the 19th.
I'm feeling a little sick, might have to skip work one day this week and see Dr. Kingston at the Peak center about it.
Mike, I looked into us adopting it but damnit anyways Thanks to NAXJA!!
Paul,
Lol, the coordinator at RMFTC has been teasing the local NAXJA chapter for a few years. When the previous organization had to decline the adoption, that guy was on it like...white on rice.
I'd be game for this.
I ran this last year, but forget where it comes out. I know you can see Yankee Hill and Loch Lomond from here. Does it come out at Alice? If you're thinking of a run this Saturday, I'd probably be up for it.
