    Default Pickle Gulch 6-7-14

Went up to Pickle gulch yesterday and ran it all the way through to Apex and did some exploring on some of the spurs. There are a number of fairly large mud holes, one in particular that can really suck your tires in. Fun to play in though! I only saw one other vehicle the entire time I was up there. There are only a few smaller snow drifts left near Apex and the rest of the trail is just muddy from the runoff. I paid the price for not replacing my rear body protection after taking off my old rear bumper, I broke out one tail light on an uphill muddy section and then broke the other one later in the trail when my rear end slid sideways on a icy shelf into a tree. Later in the trail I came across a large fallen tree blocking the trail entirely. People had already started making an illegal bypass around the tree and tearing up a grassy field. So I decided to saw it in half and drag the tree off the trail, opening the trail and blocking the illegal bypass. Then headed back down and went to the Golden super cruise which was a little chilly, but a good time as always.
