Default Yankee Hill Sunday June 8

Bushducks says it's open http://bushducks.com/tripreps/passopen.htm scroll to the bottom, it says:

6/3/14 - Open all the way. Only a couple of mud pits, but otherwise dry.

Anyone want to go Sunday morning, meet up at 10 am at the cemeteries? go over and back? do muddy donuts in GlacierPaul's lot?

I may be up for it. Not sure yet. Have a few things to get done this weekend and I'll see if I can get them done quickly.

I am able to do it Paul, I have not been able to check anything out since my last TR, so I am anxious to see what all is actually open. I don't think it's ALL open . I will have my boy Aidan as well. Be ready for some snow(on trail), and 20% chance of T-storms and breezy(cold) high of 51.
    Let's "wheel" this!

so now the bushducks page has been updated and they removed the comment I copied and posted in the first post-

"Bushducks says it's open http://bushducks.com/tripreps/passopen.htm scroll to the bottom, it says:

6/3/14 - Open all the way. Only a couple of mud pits, but otherwise dry."

now the comment box is empty. weird. wtf bushducks!?! So I guess we'll see what's actually open...

    I learned a new word!

Here's the hourly weather for tomorrow, the humidity is dropping all morning, hopefully we'll have great weather! We should wrap it up in a couple of hours, afternoon storms shouldn't be an issue.

Here's the CDOT cameras, good for checking out the drive there:

It's going to be a fun run!

Aidan and I just got back from doing a scouting run for our proposed trip tomorrow. It's all good, C.C. over to Yankee. The Apex side still lots of snow. We started up 175, did the Yankee top loop, over to 271.F where we cleared a tree top off trail busted a few good sized drifts. Had to winch once and looped back to 175. Just past that intersection and just after where STT (Brad helped out on that one) closed off some off trail areas, was the run off caused mud/water pit. As you can see folks are going around on the uphill side breaking trail. From there we headed down 772.1 toward Apex, didn't even make it to the collapsed cabin. Turned around and headed over to 175.3C then on back to 175 over to the trail to C.C. From C.C. we did Oh My Gawd Rd. down to Idaho Springs for dinner and to fill up the Jeep for tomorrow. A guy at the gas station came up "hey man your leaking something bad under the Jeep", I said yeah it's snow, he was amazed how much snow was packed up in the undercarriage .
Gonna be a fun day tomorrow!
EDIT: somehow the pics loaded last to first.
