There is one part of the original link you posted that worries me... a good way for the inexperienced to get someone hurt. The issue I have is the pic posted below stating "the right way to attach 2 straps." The issue I have is this i NOT a safe way to attach two straps. The shackle in the middle needs to turn 90 degress. You never went to pull on a shackle in such a way that you are pulling it apart. You always want to pull from the pin on one side and the curve oposite the pin on the other. This is the way the shackle is the strongest, and the way the weight rating applies. I have twisted many of shackle that have rotated into the position in the picture below!

That is the WRONG way to attach two straps together! if one strap breaks you have 1.5lb projectile that will destroy anything in its way.
This is the correct way to attach two straps together. if you don't have a magazine, you can sub with a stick.
