    Default Shakedown run late march?

Hey guys, I should get all(most) of my mods done by the end of my spring break in mid march so trying to find a trail that would be good for testing out the tire clearance, locked rear, and all my other stuff. I would just do sevenmile but I don't think it will be officially open anytime soon. Not looking to do a lot of snow bashing if I can avoid it.

I wish the anniversary run was later into the season. It always seems like a far drive to have a picnic in bad weather.

That's how I feel about the New Years Day run Max, maybe we could move it to July!

I should be heading to Rustic on Friday. I will be going right by the Sevenmile trailhead. The last time I was up there (maybe a month ago?) the "yellow crime scene tape" that once blocked the trail was broken. I suspect that technically the trail was still closed. I have done the entire trail once in the summer and then parts of it at other times (no snow). Not really a tough trail to do a shakedown run. I will try to post something this weekend as to how Sevenmile looks.

Then we'd have to move the 4th of July run to November!

I don't recall the New Year's day run being a picnic...there was some shoveling, winching and lot's of tire spinning

I don't want to spend the whole day getting pulled out by other people cause I still don't have a winch and I want to be able to check all my clearances and what not and don't feel like crawling around in the snow to do so.

Sevenmile is always my fallback trail I love it, but I am guessing it has some parts that may be "impassable" at the moment due to the fact that it is still closed on the USDA site. I would assume it got hammered pretty bad from the flood.

I'm hoping that they can reopen it soon its the only trail that stays open around here.

Watching the shoveling, winching and lot's of tire spinning from a heated truck IS a picnic Jim!

I will take a look tomorrow at the lower end of the trail. Shortly after the floods I came down the trail from the Red Feather Lakes end, but we popped out on Manhattan Road before getting the lower portion of the trail (225). Later we started on the southern end of 225 (close to hwy 14) and headed up the trail. The water was a little deep, but I didn't see anything too alarming. It was going to get dark soon and we decided to call it a day. Maybe a week or two later there was a sign saying that it was closed due to the floods. Again, that was shortly after the big floods (maybe a couple weeks after???). About a month ago I went up to Red Feather Lakes from Rustic and noticed that the "crime scene tape" was broken. I didn't notice the "closed due to flooding" sign, but I didn't look that hard. I'll look again tomorrow or maybe Saturday if I get up there too late tomorrow to take a look.

That's up to members to choose Rick. The "official" anniversary date is the 8th which happens to be the second Saturday of the month.

Someone needs to step up and get it going Rick!

Not that I want to dictate anything but I will be having a part of my work done during my break that starts on the 17th-22nd, so the 22nd or the 29th would be better for me. If not the only thing that wouldn't be done would be my brake upgrades and maybe welding the diff.
