As I was saying, Its kinda flimsy for the price but it do's what I need it for.
And it leave a good size gap in the front. I trimmed my Valance and have the center for visual..

Is it all the same skid plate? The second set of pictures I'm having trouble determining what I'm looking at.
1st set is the frame mounts behind the bumper.
The 2nd set is the front subframe, between the LCAs, Rack & pinion.

Ok, I see it now. Mine attaches up high similar to yours but it just goes under the subframe without attaching to it.
could be it just the Rangers but all Iv seen have the holes.
Guess I havent look that close on the Explorers

Thanks for pics. Definitely not worth $312 from Ford. Once I get my bumper mounted I'll be building one. I think I want to continue the plate under the crossmember back far enough to protect the diff.
I can see the extra frame crossmember your Ranger has between the frame horns, here is the Explorer tender underbelly.
Ya, I just use the Ranger for light wheeling. If it was hardcore Id build one from plate !!
Like I said before, Everytime I take it out I have to pull it and drive over it to flaten it out.

Rich here is the one I built for the ranger it worked great and gave me a place to mount the power steering cooler too. It protected the lower radiator and motor really good, plus 4 bolts and it was off.
Here's mine:

haven't dented or deformed it yet.

Thanks for the pics, I read you thread before. My concern is that plate has a big gap from the front. I appears to be made to fit the stock air opening in the factory valance.

Well the guy that makes my plate lives in Loveland. Maybe a custom made plate could be worked out.
I originally fit mine with the factory bumper at the stock height. You couldn't really even see it from the front without standing on your head. Now my new bumper was built to incorporate it smoothly.
Either one should give you a piece of mind that you won't puncture a PS line, cooler or even condenser or radiator. I've banged a few rocks of mine.
Rich if I didn't have the 3" BL on it, it wouldn't have been noticeable. The bumper would have hidden it except for about a 1/4".
