Black Bear Pass is a very fun trail. I have done it up out of Telluride (or "reverse") and down into Telluride as part of the Superwinch Offroad Tour back in the day. I've heard its pretty rare to get to go up the trail, usually you're only allowed to go down into Telluride like this video shows. A friend of mine ran it this past 4th of July and said the trail is getting extremely washed out and narrow. 10 years ago you could run a fullsize truck and now I guess its a squeeze even for a Wrangler.

It doesn't live up to the reputation IMHO, the rangers run it in stock F-150's as I recall. Two years ago I led a friend down it in his stock Cherokee w/o any issues. It's very scenic prior to the one-way section which is nice and the 'scarey' section does require your full attention. I love the trail!

Going up would be cool, never done that and probably never will. I think there's one run a year where people get to go the opposite way.

That looks like a trail that I definitely won't be taking my truck on I'm not too sure I'd even enjoy taking my dirt bike down that trail. Very beautiful area though.

I should point out that I got a gopro for xmas a year ago and have been casually monkeying with it since. I'd probably ask Tom or Trailfiend or anyone else for camera advice, I'm as amateur as it gets. Having said that, after a year of the gopro I like it, I'd get it again. I've found it has a lot of limitations, and it's the wrangler of cameras- you spend more on accessories after you get it that you do on the camera. It doesn't even come with a memory card, you can't just open the box and use it without spending more right away. You can use the smart phone app to see what it sees, or buy the back pack. The batteries last about a minute, every time I take it hiking I bring 3 batteries and use them all. You can buy a power setup for your vehicle too. The gopro cineform software sucks except for timelapses, I had to buy 3rd party. I must have $700.00 into it including the purchase price. It takes great quality video and audio, but not being able to zoom is a huge limitation. Pentax, Kodak and others make some awesome sport cameras that cost less than what I have in the gopro and can do soooooo much more. Being able to mount the gopro easily is great, but you can do that with the others if you get alittle creative. Quick fists work well. In a jeep you can put tripod in the rear and bungie it down to the footman loops. Zoom past the dash and you have POV shots with any camera. For live action other than POV I'm not crazy about it. I do like it a LOT on a monopod, that's my favorite way to use the Gopro. The dashcam is limited. In this video you can see the difference in the action the gopro pics up of Rick's truck shooting snow in the air and the handheld ones, the handheld video is much better IMO. (I know my vids suck, but hopefully this year I'll get better!)
