Stopped by MSV for you on our way to T33A. There was a group there about to run MSV and Coney Flats. I believe they said they were with Colorado Offroad.com. The trail was opened yesterday apparently. Sorry pics not too good because of rain but there were about 8 trucks.

Yup, I can confirm another group ran it today too. Nice that it's open, a favorite trail of mine.

Yes, I had some friends that ran it today and got through The Lake just fine. This is a confirmed run in the Calendar, so plenty of time to RSVP yet.

You should RSVP as a 'maybe' on the Calendar. You can always update your status later once you decide.

Bump for a final call for the run tomorrow. We've got 4 'Yes' so far and 2 'Maybe'. I also noted in my RSVP that 2 other TJs will be joining us; one of which is a friend that I've wheeled with before; he's just not on this forum (yet). So, 6 rigs with a potential for 8. Weather looks good and trail is open. Should be a fun time.

As I noted before, I haven't run this trail. However, I have this cool app on my Android called 'BackCountry Navigator' which is what I use for trail navigation. I download the .gpx files from TrailDamage and can then overlay on a variety of application maps, including aerial, forest service, etc. I can cache the maps ahead-of-time so I'm not dependent on a cell signal. Here's a screenshot I took from the app showing our trails overlaid on the U.S. Forest Service Map:

I'm pretty savvy on the trail. There are some obstacles that you need to pay attention to, but as long as you do, no damage will occur. The water crossing at Coney Reservoir is fun. It is looking like I will go. I need to change my status to "Going".

Jason that is cool, I might have to show up just so you can show me how set my phone up too Sorry I am still not sure my status. Work is working me pretty hard and I want to pull new axle halfshaft out to inspect before running again. Hoping to get it done tonight but I still have 6-7 more hours work today.

There's also a free .gpx file from FunTrex that includes the waypoints in the related guidebook. Kind of useful if you're using that book.

I can't make this run due to traditional 4th plans with the family but I sure wish I could. It's a lot of fun!

I have a bunch of .gpx files from here and there, I wonder if they can be uploaded and downloaded on the forum.

Schedule changes= I can go!! Looking forward to these trails, especially Coney Flats, it was my first difficult-ish one in CO years ago. The water crossing was awesome! I've heard the new (to me) guardian rocks in the beginnning have cut down on usage?

I wouldn't be surprised it that's true. The gatekeeper's definitely tougher than it used to be.

I think everyone else who's signed up has been on them at least once. MSV is straightforward. Coney has at least one Y requiring a right turn (or is it left?).
