No snow. Couple muddy spots from some melting but nothing to worry about. First several miles are 2wd easy (up to the second "adopt a trail" sign). From there on up it's not "hard" but certainly 4wd territory.

I haven't been on the trail since they "flattened" it a couple years ago. How difficult is the "4wd" portion these days? My dad has a stock Nissan Frontier and I was planning on taking him up to Slaughterhouse Gulch on Sunday but would love to try Twin Cone again. I wouldn't have tried it with a stock rig previously, but just wondering if that would be possible now.

EDIT: This is a Red Cone / Webster Pass thread and I assumed folks were taking about Red Cone. Reading the thread it seems to have shifted to Twin Cone. Just note the pic below is Red Cone.

I think this was the most difficult item (near the eastern trailhead):

I realize the title is Red Cone but figured since Tom went up Twin Cone I could get the quickest update on Twin Cone from this thread. Sorry for the confusion!!! To keep it on the topic of the thread title, I can't wait to do Red Cone again this year!!

I have an Explorer with 33s and a couple inches of lift. It's not all that tough, it's just very rough and rocky once it starts to climb and especially up near the top. Depending on the size of the tires, it will feel even more rough. I also didn't disconnect the sway bars.
