Default Pole Hill, Pierson Park, Johnny Park and camping

My family and I are planning a trip to Estes Park on the weekend of the 21st. We have several others joining us so far, and are planning to camp at Hermit Park Open Space. These trails are pretty simple, but we are just wanting to have an enjoyable weekend, meet some new folks, and play on some trails. Please let me know if any of you might be interested. As long as the trails are open, we plan to play on all 3.

They are still closed but with the weather that's on the way? You should be in luck!

Hope they're open, but it I wouldn't count it. It appears Middle St. Vrain and Coney Flats won't open till the 29th, and they're at similar elevation. Call the Canyon Lakes RD office to be sure they're open. Don't trust the online road status.

All these trails are now open. We are camping at Hermit Park Campground across from Pole Hill entrance. Probably be on Channel 5 on the CB if anyone can make it out.

I might be interested in running one or two with you. I was just about to suggest a run on Bunce for this weekend, but this option sounds good! I have run all three and like them all, but with my little girl as my co-pilot, I need to make it a shorter day than you might like to do. That's OK. We can bail out when she gets bored.

    Post up your plans!

Well, I won't be able to join you Friday, But I could meet up either Saturday or Sunday morning to run Johnny and/or Pierson. Both trails offer an option for me and my girl to bail out on the pavement if necessary.

    Just let me know.

(How many vehicles are going???) It makes a difference when you have to watch the clock a little bit...

So far there's only 3 rigs, maybe 4. You think you could maybe meet us at camp, say around 9 or so?

That's totally doable! Just let me know which day and maybe some directions to the camp. I know where the turn-off for Pole Hill is from HWY 36 - so please start from there!

Hermit park campground is literally straight across 36 from pole hill. We are camping at Hermit Hollow, H2 site. I'm pretty sure Hermit Hollow is the first actual camping area you come to in the park. I'll have my ZJ, wife's WJ, friends JK, and possibly an XJ. You can't miss us.

Sounds perfect! We will see you then. We will be on channel 15 on CB if you've got one. Our daughters are 6 and 7, so they'd enjoy another kid to play with!

I will find out tomorrow. I don't think so but I'll find out for sure.

I don't mind paying a small fee, but I'm sure we have other options on places to meet. Annika is so excited knowing there will be other kids her age going!

Pole Hill Road is confirmed open. I drove part of it on Saturday after the plane crash run. Mud hold in the meadow is bigger. Stay the trail and avoid it please.

Talked to some guys on trails bikes near the entrance of the button rock loop (which was open on the North end; no idea about the other end at Johnny Park). They said they'd heard on the trail that the gate at Johnny Park was closed. Call the Canyon Lakes office to make sure.

Was talking with wife, and to make it easier let's all just meet at the park entrance at 9. That way there will be more room an no one will have to pay.

Thanks for the update. Forest service site is showing all of them open now, but I'll call tomorrow and confirm. And you dont have to worry, we always stay the trail.
