We met in Lyons at Sandstone Park with all 5 rigs that RSVP'd then headed up S St. Vrain Dr / Route 7 past Peak to Peak to the start of Bright Trail / Taylor Mountain.
After some of us aired down, we started up the trail. It is an easy dirt road with a few spurs and lots of camp sites. After checking out all the areas, we headed back and started back down the highway to Miller Rock.
As usual trying to find the start of the trail, the leader almost missed the turn and had to back up to make the sharp right into the drive way. (LOL) Miller Rock is a fun trail with fun and sometimes challenging ascents and descents. The height of the trail is the Miller Rock, which you can climb up and see for miles and miles for 360 degrees. Unfortunately we were told by a passing Jeep that the gate to the south exit was locked so we had to go back out the way we came.
All in all it was a good day, Taylor mountain is more of a camping area, and not really 4 wheeling. Miller Rock was REALLY TIGHT this time of year, lots of bushes and branches sticking out to scratch your rig.
Here is a clickable 360 degree view on the top of Miller Rock.
