1freak1, you're correct. 1979 was the first year of the "Pig nose" grill which was plastic and had square headlights. Mine is from a 1976 Cherokee which is known as the "Razor" grill. Sadly my Cherokee doesn't look like this right now. On Monday I was towing my 1979 Ford Courier (Same year by coincidence.) when the trailer tongue broke away from the trailer and rolled my Courier over at 65mph. The trailer itself actually hit my Cherokee and looks to have bent the rear axle shaft. It definitely destroyed on of my rims and may have destroyed one of my tires.
