Thanks, Joe! That was very generous!!!
Donation processed and donation system is turned it off.
This "listing" was for the end of last month / beginning of this month - but I forgot to post it. The month prior had an overage that was applied to this month which is why this was 1/5 of typical.
I have a calendar reminder for about the last week of the month to turn donations on... we'll see how well it reminds me.
very welcome. i made this thread because the meter stayed up. guess Jim's on it though!
The donations process, as much of the admin duties (there aren't too many), is rather manual.
1) Login to the site control panel and enable the donation system
2) When a donation comes in I get a PM (all PM's get an e-mail notice too) from the donation system and an e-mail from PayPal acknowledging the donation.
3) I then have to "approve" each donation in the donation system. When that happens the donation "gas gauge" fills accordingly.
So, it is quite possible (last month) for donations to go over the top (BECAUSE FOLKS QUICKLY / THOROUGHLY DONATE TO KEEP THE LIGHTS ON!!) before I can "approve" things and stop the donations. Not an issue as I simply roll the excess to the next month. But, yes, it's manual and if I'm not at my desk when the donations flood in it may seem that it's not working. As I'm self-employed I could have an evening appointment (when most folks use the board / would be making donations) and be away from my desk when things get busy.
I'm impressed with the donations from folks at how quickly someone decides to step up to the plate and get it (any donation towards the goal) done.
Thank you.

Since I missed it again when the next time rolls around could someone please send me a message. Thanks

Jim, just curious as to what it costs to keep the lights on for a month, in ballpark figures, if it's any of my beeswax.
The $50 covers overhead including Jim's hourly wage of 75¢ as long as he doesn't put in more than a couple hours/month.

James & Tom, thank you for digging up the "current" donations thread.
I did not remember this thread being around.
I'll moderate this thread (move / delete / merge posts with the main thread as appropriate). Not this weekend though. For now, I'm just going to close the thread. Heading out camping (if the newly installed radiator, thermostat, rad-cap, rad hoses, v-belts work as desired. If anything pukes on me this afternoon - I'll be around (but I hope to not be around).
