Had a good time and it was fun wheeling with Kelly (ClickPopBoom). The road was covered in snow, ice and very rutted. We took it as far as we were comfortable, and after heading down a fairly long hill with deeper worse conditions then up to that point we were both a bit concerned about making it back up it. So we turned around and headed back out. There was a bit of a mud hole at the only dry section of road, in the middle of a meadow that we played in for a bit. When we got back to Buckhorn Road we headed up the maintained upper Crystal mountain road and picked up the 4x4 trail for a ways. The trail to the top of Crystal had very deep snow so we headed down the jeep road. Only got a couple of miles before hitting a gate. I couldn't think of anywhere else in the area that might be open so it ended up a short day. I felt bad for Kelly who had come all the way from Parker.
At least I got some pics of Kelly and his rig.
The shots with the snow are just after we topped out from the hill mentioned above. They don't show the real condition of the trail very well.
