nice rig, congrats. What made you decide to go with RV versus towable? We have been going back and forth on trying to decide for about a year.

Hey James - here's another spot for you to ski! In good form - it's back country to boot!

An actual campfire.
Not quite done yet but thought I would throw in a little before/after of bike. The new wind screen is bigger than original to help with wind and has additional piece that is adjustable, one pic it is down the other is all the way up. Apparently during freezing temps the bank sensor failed. Had tested bike while waiting on new fairing and it was working but after getting fairing and few other things done had no power to fuel pump. Bank sensor is under front fairing so it all had to come back off to access. Should have it back to street ready by this weekend.

Say "customized trailer" here and we immediately go to 4x4 camping trailer. Each hobby/trade has their own "trailer" type:

It isn't as comfortable as Mike's new RV looks to be, but we picked up our own version of wilderness comfort this week. First use was out at Pawnee Buttes and it served us well.

Had a couple actual campfires this past week:
it's a bit of a story that started last Sept when my mother passed, but we ended up with a camper rental we never used, and the rental company was kind enough to give us a credit for later use this winter before the spring/summer business picked up. So we took a week to head south to kodachrome basin SP (UT), but stopped along the way for a couple nights near grand junction, CO. Skied at powderhorn out near GJ and then brian head down in southwest UT. As many of you probably know, my wife and I are pretty simple tent campers etc, so the rpod camper is a small adventure in itself...even though it was 20F most nights, enjoyed a warm night's sleep and hot coffee without being layered up with down puffy etc...pretty luxurious. A pic of jen skiing overlooking the utah desert, and a pic of evening sunset and camper.
After two days in Colo, we spent 4 days in Kodachrome/Grand Staircase Escalante area. A few years ago we drove all of Cottonwood Rd, but there is a lot more to explore... Did a bit of dirt road exploring along Hole in the Rock and a bit of Skutumpha Rd in the Tacoma and some good slot canyon hiking... out near Hole in the Rock:
Slot canyon near Hole in the rock:
Jen nearing the top of the slot where it gets pretty tight:
Hiking a cool slot in Staircase area with ice in the bottom off Skutumpha Rd:
Some scenery of Kodachrome Basin:
And a nice sunset:
Back to Montana work for another month or so....

More info and pics please! That is really cool looking, I bet you hardly noticed it behind the Frontier.
The ultimate tailgating rig I outfitted named 'The Orange Crush Unit' got a facelift for a fresh, bold, new look!
Sounds great!! I'm sure that if the electronics passed your inspection they're excellent. I think a new axle is the way to go too, save you a lot of effort for not too much money and you get to start new. I've had an idea about trailers like yours with a relatively flat roof- you could mount a rooftop tent to it, but instead of the opening in the bottom of the tent having a ladder, have the opening match up to a trap door in the roof of the trailer so you can go up / down without going outside.
Hard to believe it has been over a year since i finished this up. It's been a HUGE addition to the shop!
