Came down with what I think is the start of a mild head cold...but can't risk going in to work with clients. Employer asks I stay home, pay me for the day (which is appreciated and I assume helps encourage us to not risk coming in sick) and send me to the clinic to get C19 tested. Will be my first test... supposedly a few other staff have had similar head cold type symptoms recently and tested negative. I think test results should come back before end of day, and if negative I go back to work wed. My biggest concern is my 83 year old father living with me - don't need to give him C19. He just got scheduled for his first vaccine shot for Thurs this week down in Bozeman.

Didn’t know you were up that way. I lived in Belgrade for a few years back in the early 80’s. Beautiful area.
Left because back in those days they’d say “its beautiful here but you can’t eat pretty.” And I couldn’t.

After trying to eat pretty for a lot of years I gave up as well...I've worked bin some capacity for the resort for 20+ years, but only part time winter season for good clients over the last 8 years or so. After not returning to the high school teaching field this fall, we are trying to see if full time employment might be plausible this time around, although Jen is still running her business in Denver. I plan to be back in Denver full time in late April for the remainder of the year....not sure what we are doing after that. As a side note, my mother passed in Sept, and we thought between that and C19 issues, it would be better to have Dad around here with me than home alone...plus he loves skiing here avoiding all the Colo ski crowds and i70 driving.

Ended up initially taking the normal test with 48 hr results as that is all that is available locally in big sky. But then drove down to town and got a rapid test...came back negative. So I am just dealing with a head cold, and may have to tough through it at work for a few days. Be interested to see what the initial test results are.

Yesterday was an interesting day. United had a plane who's engine gave up over Broomfield and had some debris rain down. Large parts fell at about 136th and Sheridan. For reference, we saw and then heard the plane at our place a little less than a mile away as the crow flies on 156th and Zuni. Was good to hear everyone was alright, both on the ground and in the plane. Here is a short video about it:

    the news article:

    https://www.9news.com/article/news/l...5-a39a983f3d09

" BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Neighborhoods in Broomfield were hit by airplane debris falling from the sky on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Boeing 777-200's right engine failed shortly after takeoff. That led to parts of the plane breaking off and landing in front yards, streets and a park in the city.
Broomfield Police said they had not had any reports of injuries.

Viewer Troy Lewis was also on the United Flight and shared this video of what it looked like out his window when the plane began losing parts and when the flight landed safely at DIA. Passengers are heard cheering.

There were 231 passengers and 10 crew members on board, according to United. There were no reported injuries.

Broomfield Police said they got numerous reports that people heard a loud noise and then saw what they believed was a plane going down.

9NEWS viewer William Thornburg who was in Northglenn, said he saw a plane flying overhead, then a ball of smoke.

Claire Armstrong was at the dog park when said she heard the loud boom, then started seeing pieces of the plane fall from the sky. Staci took this video from Commons Park in Broomfield, where police said a large debris field had been reported.

Her family quickly decided they should probably leave the area. "

I heard it also. Sounds like we're nearly neighbors. The debris is only 1/4 mile from my house!

A guy in a Facebook group I belong to has one that was converted to 4WD. Unfortunately mine is just 2WD.
