At my house Jim we got >12 inch of heavy and wet snow. I shoveled part of my driveway and it was hard work. More than I expected for this storm... I think this should really help with the fires, at least with the Cameron Peak Fire.

"Sorry Jim I missed this, we are still figuring out how bad it is. There was some fracturing to the bone where muscles attach. I am going back at end of month for more x-rays to confirm bone is healed and hopefully able to move forward to PT. I plan to push it in PT because that is the type of person I am. I am looking forward to getting back on a wall even worse than getting back on bike which is going to require strong effort.
Got parts from Honda and Wylie completed repairs. Repairs included fan with blade, foot peg and mount, shift lever, radiator mount, clutch lever headlight assembly, turn signal assembly, mirror and front cowl mount. Started bike last week and checked clutch and tranny operation. Upgraded to LED headlight for both low and high beams. This required a regulator/rectifier upgrade. Other upgrades left to get are a touring wind screen that is not currently available and a Sargent seat, neither necessary but wanted. Got gas tank from Ebay used and dent free. Will get it painted to match fairings when they arrive, getting away from that horrendous red. They should be done being molded and painted by end of month. It is possible bike will be done before I start PT."

    How are things going?

    That gate looks much better!

Had follow up xrays last week and got go ahead to start PT. Yesterday was first day. Just working on range of motion so far. Left me real sore and not much sleep last night. Have PT 3 times a week for 2 weeks and then possibly reduce to twice a week for 4 more. Hopeful to be able to return to work at that point but will likely need to continue therapy after that to get back to climbing. Told therapist my goal is to come out of this a stronger climber than I was before.
Fairings are painted and shipped and should be here in next couple weeks. Wind screen came back in stock and I got it here and waiting now too.

Thanks! I finished up the 5th and last arch today. Feels good to be done with that project.

Good to hear you are progressing. Please remember to keep up with the exercises, stretching, and everything else the PT wants you to do. The harder you work the better the outcome.

A very short clip of some carnage that caught my eye as being "different" - not only did the u-joint blow - the steering knuckle separated from the ball joints.

Had a weird interaction today. Neighbor came over, the battery in his XJ was dead from leaving his lights on. (Really nice XJ btw, might try and trade the YJ ). Got hooked up to give him a jump, his XJ would start with a little gas but would only continue running has long as he was giving it some gas. As soon as he took his foot off the gas pedal the engine would die. We tried multiple times and let it run for a while with a little bit of gas -- no luck. Battery was only 2 years old. I said sorry man maybe it's your alternator (?). He called AAA and the grizzled old tech, after jumping it and seeing the engine die, said "I think it's something with the fuel pump and the angle it's parked at" (it was parked sideways on a slope in a parking garage). The tech grabbed the roof rack and proceeded to VIOLENTLY SHAKE the XJ side to side (the two of us standing there with mouths agape). He then started it up and it purred like a kitten, no extra gas pedal needed Anybody ever heard of that trick???

I put my trailer away in the dark last time it was out and did myself a big favor. My yard is clean, went through it for fall, this must have come off the fence during the last wind event when some garbage cans in the alley flew around and hit stuff like my fence, and I did not see it in the dark. There is just this one half piece of board with a single nail in it in my whole yard, and that is exactly where I parked it. I rolled the trailer backwards today to pull the board out and the nail popped out of the tire. Feel good moment, I love it when I do **** like this.

Crazy stuff just trying to cook some dinner the other night. Crazy arching sound and the display on the oven was flashing wildly. Smoke starts coming out, ran to the panel in the garage and the breaker finally snapped about the time I opened the door. In wall oven so this could have been bad. The replacement boards are obsolete and not available of course. There has got to be something better to spend money on than a new oven!
