The water's moving!
I agree regarding the line of cars - it can be crazy long.

It's that time of year again, and this year they have a Rubicon! I just bought the winning ticket, but if you'd like to support the Ouray Chamber buy yours now!

Notice all the user created routes. I am surprised they have not closed it. I am considering going down there in a few weeks, I hope it dries out and is open.
looks like it's passable with risk of puncture, I'm planning on the morning of Tues the 27th. I'm expecting this to become another reservation only road in the future like Elephant Hill.
i plan on running ti on the 29th. The left side doesn't look too bad now either.
I'm back at the desk from the Canyonlands+ trip (`went west for Bryce but a radiator leak had me return home early). On the way back yesterday, at the Cisco exit on I-70, I helped a gent with a car fire.
So, for those that wonder why we bother carrying fire extinguishers - for the unexpected.
Several photos at the link with a highlight or two in the post:

Nice job Jim! Way to save the day. Any idea what started the fire?

I can't imagine the relief that guy felt when you put the fire out, I bet in his head the car was a fireball already. Well done.

I don't know what started it but my assumption is "electrical" (overheated wiring). He said the engine died and he coasted to the shoulder - looked in the mirror and saw smoke. We didn't bother trying to start the car once the fire was out.
I'd think the car could be repaired for not-too-significant of cost. Find out why the wiring heated to ignition (if that's the cause) and then replace the wiring.
He was appreciative - teenager and as typical, money is tight, so not having a full loss is a good thing I'd think.
I'm sure he'll put a fire extinguisher in his cars from now on!
upgrading some essential gear and I'm hoping the picture is accurate, looks like a lot more fun than the model it's replacing.

New radiator for the jeep on the way.
Fort Collins's radiator repair seemingly closed and I was referred to Laramie WY for repair. They called Wed and said - we recommend replacement vs. repair - too many issues. I was easy to agree as I too was on the fence regarding repair / replace. A fair bit of bent fin issues - front and back - in addition to the leak issues they identified.
While a part of me would have liked to keep original parts on the jeep, performance & reliability take higher priority over originality.
An all metal radiator, like the all metal original, should be in shortly. I wanted to stay away from plastic tank radiators and the repair guy agreed.

After watching closely you are correct, that Jeep totally caused the accident! I’m amazed at how stupid so many people on the roads are
