"Had a client ask if I was willing and able to assemble and weld together some Coastal Off Road bumper kits and some sliders from 4x Innovations and document it for them. No worries right? Well the quality of parts we received from Coastal were crap. Laser cut parts with heavy edge burring, and round tubing send out with bends being out of plane to each other. Meaning you can lay the grill hoop on the fab table and it won't lay flat. And that's just with the front bumper so far. Client decided that he didn't want to deal with the manufacturer since they are in Canada so I get to fix things up. Sucks that QC has gone down for so many companies lately. Getting correct and good quality parts has really been a struggle the past few months/year. I have heard the same from many different people in many different fields of work. Any of you experiences issues?"
Got both the bumpers modified enough to fit well. Can not believe a company would let parts out their door that were this bad. But a little thought and effort got them to where they need to be. Client is very happy and that's all that matters. So now I just need to finish welding them solid and then sand them smooth.
