Tuesday night was a little rough. Got lucky thanks to always riding in full gear. Dislocated shoulder, bruising and just a little road rash. Already making my plans for both me and the bike returning better than before.

Ouch....glad you are generally ok, and get well soon. Any details on how it ended up on its side?

With all the nuts out there, my V-Rod has sat in the garage for a few years now. Probably should get rid of it if I'm not going to ride it. Hope you heal up quickly.

unfortunately it was 100% rider error. got out of the tighter corners in the canyon and was speeding up for the more open corners and higher speed limit when I took my focus off my ride and was watching brother. approached a curve a little hot and rolled off throttle too quickly causing a front end shimmy. this caused me to not get my body and head turned through the corner. Had no cell service but was able to flag down a car who gave me a ride to emergency room to reset shoulder...almost 2 hours after it happened.

Sorry to hear it Clilff. You don't sound too bad and the bike doesn't look too bad, no?
xaza (September 18th, 2020)
Dang it Cliff! So happy to hear you are mostly alright. Hoping for a speedy recovery!
Pro tip: Have a whiskey & dew or four to help with the pain. Or come by and I will serve them to ya while we catch up

Thanks Jim, I am doing pretty good. It will take a bit of physical therapy to recover but I will get back to the things I love. Bike is not too bad, got it stripped down and parts list is a little over $2k plus a little over $1k in upgrades.
Aaron, thanks and LOL. Looking forward to a drink when I get off pain meds.

Having gone through PT with a nurse sister who said push it and do everything they say (and more). I'm glad I did. `hope PT (and you) get all you can get (back).
edit: So for the bike - plastics (which can be pricey) and a dent in the gas tank plus a clutch lever. Any other mechanical need work? Will you replace the tank or give it a re-paint and call it good. How's the used parts market for it?
The sky was "different" today - neither full tan haze or full clear. We had a defined line of clear blue against a rising cloud of smoke. While it looks like a "typical" scene - it just seemed oddly different (a weird thing to say).
Sorry Jim I missed this, we are still figuring out how bad it is. There was some fracturing to the bone where muscles attach. I am going back at end of month for more x-rays to confirm bone is healed and hopefully able to move forward to PT. I plan to push it in PT because that is the type of person I am. I am looking forward to getting back on a wall even worse than getting back on bike which is going to require strong effort.
Got parts from Honda and Wylie completed repairs. Repairs included fan with blade, foot peg and mount, shift lever, radiator mount, clutch lever headlight assembly, turn signal assembly, mirror and front cowl mount. Started bike last week and checked clutch and tranny operation. Upgraded to LED headlight for both low and high beams. This required a regulator/rectifier upgrade. Other upgrades left to get are a touring wind screen that is not currently available and a Sargent seat, neither necessary but wanted. Got gas tank from Ebay used and dent free. Will get it painted to match fairings when they arrive, getting away from that horrendous red. They should be done being molded and painted by end of month. It is possible bike will be done before I start PT.

`hope that muscle / bone connection issue resolves nicely for ya and that you end up better than the bike - sounds like a race.
Fort Collins is back to full smoke haze - tan / red sun - sky - everywhere.
What do folks have for snow?
FoCo looks to be in the 10 to 12 range...
Couple inches in Castle Rock.
And a reminder to be safe on the roads.
Sad to say, in town, there's not much moisture content in this snow - fairly fluffy and light.
We might be in the 14 to 16" range
EDIT: I went out to the hood of the jeep with a tape - only 12" - but it looks great!
And it’s still snowin down here...
