It's chilly out tonight! -17F now (9:30p). I'm happy to have a warm home.
Might have a line on dedicated offroad wheels, hopefully picking them up Saturday.
hmmm - not sure how I should read that message.
Wheels as in a set of four or five to have rubber tires added or "wheels" as in whole vehicle - a trailered buggy or dedicated trail vehicle. Inquiring minds...

Oh, beadlocks. I am talking about beadlocks that will have MT's that I can swap on when I am going to go offroad so I am not just wearing them down on the street.
I can't afford 2 cars, much less a trailer queen.
Nice. I agree with not wanting to wear down trail tires for town driving. Now you could go with some AT tread for town to get better snow performance.
Well it worked out. Got these from a guy that makes bumpers and whatnot north of salt lake city. He got them as promotional items back when they used to partner closely.
Needless to say, I am super excited. Gotta get them powder coated, but even after that... i got them for a song.
2k for a set of 5 NIB.
Nice! They are all aluminum?
Could you pull the beadlock off and take pics of it apart?
Yeah, that's the only one bolted together. I am missing one hardware kit that I will work on sourcing, i know where to buy most of the goods separately worst case.
Need to start talking to the local powder coaters. I want to do a dark bronze.
It will be fun bashing these beauties.
Thanks.
Interesting - a bit different than modified steel wheels.
The black ring - does that push out against both tire beads? I have never seen such a design (it might be common / I've never looked at aluminum beadlocks).
Only Hutchinson does this as far as I know, they are who make military beadlocks too. The two halves seal with a giant o-ring.
Yes, both beads are captured with the rubber. They are DOT compliant.

Well it took me over 2 years to get myself to actually post XJ for sale but I did it. Sold it yesterday. Was planning on selling the ZJ also but when the time came I just had no room to move it in the back. Ended up taking the loss and trading it in. Was a bitter sweet feeling with the memories and work put into both trucks, particularly the XJ. My days of conquering the hardest trail I can is over and just need something that can get me out camping and to remote climbing spots. Decided it was time to upgrade to something a little newer. Ordered it in December and picked it up on Valentines day.

Nice! Congratulations.
When I saw your 'sold' post - I was curious if you were moving out of trails for more climbing. `nice to see trails still in the mix. Perhaps we'll do a group camping event this summer - near some climbing spot.
I like the color!
