I watched the smoke and saw the planes and helicopter from my deck. About 8 miles as the crow flies so not a big deal. We passed this area on our Lost Park road visit in February. I think the coordinates were 39.369450350161216, -105.72336927455606, CR56 and FSR813. I was glad to see he called 911 to report his having started the fire, but more glad to see charges. Per the press release from the sheriff:

    • Intentionally Setting a Wildfire- Felony 3
    • Second Degree Arson-Felony 4
    • Unlawful Conduct on Public Property-Misdemeanor 2
    • Driving Under Suspension-Misdemeanor Traffic

    I also appreciated the statement:

"The Park County Sheriff's Office will aggressively pursue persons that have committed any criminal act that results in the destruction of land or structures in our County"

Saw this on PBS, it's the first positive take I've heard on overcrowding in parks. I'm not entirely sold but they make a strong point.

I love these trucks. There is one in Rollinsville that I get to see running around all of the time, the owner joined us with JP for a run last winter but I don't think he is a club member.

Sometimes I wonder if I would prefer a truck over the wagon....at the time I bought the wagon, i was thinking it would be more useful for all around driving and camping etc with the SUV style body, but I think the truck has better aesthetics and they are just so useful and cool for running around in and weekend errands etc. But I have my DD truck to do truck stuff I guess....

Had a client ask if I was willing and able to assemble and weld together some Coastal Off Road bumper kits and some sliders from 4x Innovations and document it for them. No worries right? Well the quality of parts we received from Coastal were crap. Laser cut parts with heavy edge burring, and round tubing send out with bends being out of plane to each other. Meaning you can lay the grill hoop on the fab table and it won't lay flat. And that's just with the front bumper so far. Client decided that he didn't want to deal with the manufacturer since they are in Canada so I get to fix things up. Sucks that QC has gone down for so many companies lately. Getting correct and good quality parts has really been a struggle the past few months/year. I have heard the same from many different people in many different fields of work. Any of you experiences issues?

I was trainwrecking that Maverick ad. Can't decide what the best worst moment was but I did especially enjoy when they are tightening the ratchet strap on the bike, then check to make sure it's way too loose to be useful. I like what they are doing there though, even if the ad makes me want to

    "way too loose"

heh - I caught that too.

Otherwise, I am somewhat interested. I didn't catch a highway MPG (did they list it?) but the est 40MPG city does catch my eye - and the not 40 or 60 grand (base) cost caught my ear.
